Mission Statement
Climate change is one of the greatest threats to the future of Peru. In 2009, several American graduate students started bikeforperu an initiative run through the Omprakash foundation. The basis of the initiative is a 700 mile bike ride from the current Peruvian capital, Lima to the former Incan capital, Cusco. The bikeforperu initiative intends to use the ride as a tool to advocate the bike as viable method of transportation both in Peru and America.
The ride will also serve to raise money for an environmental campaign and education program in the neighborhood of Los Nogales, located outside Cusco.
