Bikeforperu is hoping to raise $700 this Christmas which is symbolic of the 700 miles the volunteers will be biking. This money will be directly donated to the School of Helping Hands, and will fund a generous addition to the schools library. Any donation goes a long way in Peru, and your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Donations recieved this Christmas will go direcly towards expanding the school's library. The initiatives long term goals are as follows.
Bikes for the volunteers. Used bikes will be purchased from a Lima police auction and utilized on fundraising ride. Upon arriving in Cusco, the bikes will be donated to some of the older children in the area. Bikes $150 dollars each ideally there will be 4-7 volunteers participating in the ride.
Red and green plastic bags to be bought and distributed to neighborhood households. Red bags will be for inorganic waste and Green bags will be for organic. $100
Campaign Materials. Small advertising boards will be erected on durable two by fours in areas around the city where illegal garbage disposal occur. The boards will focus on environmental awareness and appreciation of natural resources that are being desecrated by trash. (10 advertising boards at $20 each)
